In Panama, the region of "El Valle de Anton" welcomes more and more foreign tourists.

In 2013, the Tourism Authority of Panama recorded 9,795 visits in El Valle de Antón with approximately 52.1% of foreigners.

Marcos Muñoz from ATP (Tourism Authority Panama) said that 48% of the remaining visits were made by Panamanian visitors. "El Valle de Antón is a destination for all types of tourists whether Panamanians or foreigners."

Visitors learn about hotels, restaurants, recommended hiking sites, bird watching tours, bike rides and traditional attractions in the region. El Valle is located 28 km from the Pan-American Highway, 2 hours from Panama City and 30 min away from beach resorts. The attractions of the region are linked to the mountain.

Based on the recent data, the region has seen an important influx of tourists between January and April 2014, an increase of 46.5%, compared to the same period in 2012.

According to experts who have studied the statistics, the number of tourists from France, Netherlands and Spain has increased significantly; this growth that is associated with the increased number of flights offered by Iberia, KLM and Air France. But Canadians and the Americans are still the main groups of tourists visiting El Valle.

El Valle is a destination with more than 29 hotels and 9 restaurants. The region began to develop relationships with international tour operators.
