John Wayne Island is located 3 nautical miles from the corner of Punta Chame, 25 nautical miles from the city of Panama, 15 minutes flight from Albrook Airport in the city of Panama, or just drive to Punta Chame, 1 hour 20 minutes, from the city of Panama.
John Wayne Island Resort has 25 rooms, divided between the hotel, cabins and lofts. The Resort has a western theme with the cabins and rooms named after famous people of Hollywood.
The Island of 20 hectares (49.42 acres) has 4 kilometers (2.8 miles) of sandy beaches, with a Bird Sanctuary located on the East side of the island, about 2 hectares ( 4.94 acres). The Smithsonian and the Audubon Society, have an extensive bird watching studies., at the North side of the island there is an area where the Green Turtles, twice a year come to spawn.
The Island has, also a Master Plan to develop parts of the property.
